1. Illustrator is a wonderful tool for any logo designer & branding specialist. However it's not always prefect in how it handles said designers thoughts and goals. I love some of the filters that allow warping of forms, but every now and again, it's crucial to be able to shape vectors myself. We're all caught in the Matrix™ but some can twist it like Morpheus. This particular example is an identity design for a client who desired gently arced typography. After warping the hand-made type just a bit, by my own RDQLUS standards, I had to shape the arc to be consistent throughout the form.
2. Well… the time came, and my new device and iD card for the Cult of Apple is in hand. There's still a chance that I might get the cartoonishly larger iPhone 6+, so the Apple duder who sold me mine said to keep the box and contents. Let me stop you right there, hub; I keeps it all, every time! I've been an early-adopter since the launch of the iPhone platform in 2007, having kept all of my devices in pristine condition since then—the only one missing being my "3g" that was gifted to a family member upon the arrival of my "4." I suspect I'll keep the tradition going. Nothing has been more crucial to the creative business of RDQLUS as these communications devices.
3. She is the face of Nebraska… literally! The captain of the Nebraska Husker Cheer Squad, Jesse Pflug is one of my most dedicated former athletes, and when she comes home to visit family, she always includes "Coach." I couldn't be more proud of her accomplishments, and the goodwill and community service that her and her team provide for the Huskers and the community surrounding the university.
4. A little sketchy behavior for a new client identity & branding, for their newly minted business—which was also named by RDQLUS CREATIVE. Total package, people… total package.
5. PHANTOGRAM! That is all.
