Running My Mouth

Out in the world talking that RDQLUS nonsense!

I couldn't get any work done this week for sake of working, and I couldn't have been more stoked about it. From creative task force meetings to lots of chats with students about creativity, design, branding and marketing—it's been a long, hard, but highly enjoyable week at RDQLUS CREATIVE.

First up was a recurring panel appearance that always goes smashingly with the joint classes of "Journalism 1500" at University of Nebraska - Omaha. Instructor-turned-moderator, Adam Tyma lead a lively discussion about branding, marketing and creativity, and he always leaves a few minutes for me to rant about "why in Omaha?!" Don't even get me started.

The very next morning, I was back on campus—a bit earlier than my non-collegiate, old guy norm—to chat a bit with my creative colleague Ashley McFeely's design & branding class. A great discussion was sparked solely by questions from the young would-be designers, of whig they had plenty. We could have talked for another two hours, easily.

Keeping the momentum, that next evening found me holed up & huddled around a mic with my creative professional homies as we joined the ever popular "Reflex Blue Show" (hosted by 36point.com bantered about the prospect of career shifts, the relative immaturity of the design & marketing professions, an what we're going to do to ride of into the sunset when our time comes. When that episode of "RBS" goes live, the link will be posted here. Stay tuned!
