1. What Ups! – A lot! There's nothing like "Delivery Day!" So the worst is coming
home to that very particular set of sticky notes from postal services
stating that it's your bad for not being home when they randomly stopped
by. And guess what…
you have to play roulette again tomorrow. Nah, not the kid! I've
decided to make friends with my packaging partners. So when I'm
expecting a drop-off, I try to leave a note with a more authentic set of
instructions that they can almost hear coming directly out of my face.
That's how to stay winning in the delivery game.
2. EPIC… COFFEE… SHOT! (that is all)
3. "Lorde" have mercy!
– A friend suggested I listen to a new artist by the name of "Lorde"
and I'm all like, "Oh no… what kind of too-cool hipster bullsh*t you
gon' have me struggling to understand now?!" So I Spotify it up (yes,
it's a verb now—because I said so!) and I hit the first track, "Royals."
Uh… who is this brooding, crooning, boss sliding across the beat with
an indie voice and the near cocky "cool" of a hip hop headliner?
Needless to say I was curious to the point of knowing I'd be hooked,
just as soon as I heard more.
4. The "Exchange" rate is high
– With a devout following and major acclaim, I'm not so sure they can
qualify as underground, but it's damn cool to be able to say that for a
neo-soul outfit who operate like a mix-tape artist while dropping some
of the most distinct, intelligent and street-wise R&B since the
title actually stood for something real (rhythm & blues). Cop the
new 'Foreign Exchange', if you're into that sort of thing—that being good music.
