This elite-level track & field training camp is marking it's tenth year of developing Midwestern talent focused on the sport know as "Athletics" the world over. It has always been the aim to teach & expose athletes to not just the sport but also the lifestyle of being an elite athlete. In this sense, the look is just as important as the training. Tachyon athletes are able to be noticed not only by their form and technical habits, but also the teams signature colors—most notable of which is their beloved "vivid yellow." So in honor of their tenth anniversary, a new logo design was commissioned.
The center-point of the mark is the initial "T," designed using the "Golden Ratio" width-to-height. There are (10) feathers exploding vertically through the mark—one for each year, marking their first decade. The comparison to the previous logo (also designed by RDQLUS) shows the initial mark was built on a visual of lanes & speed, deriving visual meaning from the word "tachyon"; a crucial particle in theoretical physics thought to travel so fast as to allow time travel. The new mark keeps that energy and turns it into a tighter composition forming a crest with the visual allusion to military patches and heraldry. This denotes the discipline and structure of training needed to be an elite athlete. The nameplate stays the same, but with a bit tighter, cleaner spacing.
